Day Shift
7a - 7:30p
- CPR or BLS (Basic Life Support)
Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures, e.g., abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, peripheral, and breast sonograms, for patients as ordered. Selects appropriate transducer, depending upon depth of field, organ to be identified, ect. Conducts scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment. Assists radiologist in such procedures as needle biopsies, amniocentesis, renal biopsies, etc.
Education: Graduate from an accredited program in ultrasonic technology/sonography.
Experience: Minimum requirement of two years as a sonographer. The Radiologist will determine the level of diagnostic skill. Knowledge of current theories and practices in sonography and their application to patient care. Ability to apply principals of diagnostic sonography in a clinical setting.
Licenses/Certification: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS). Maintenance of CPR/BLS.
