Oncology Patient Navigator
As a patient navigator, you'll be responsible for delivering individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to overcome barriers within the healthcare system. Ideal RN candidates possess a nursing degree and current RN license from the state of Colorado. Should be versatile, organized, open to change, and committed to superior patient care. Must also have a minimum of two years acute care experience, knowledge of patient financial services or insurance authorization is preferred.

The navigator acts as a link between patients and care providers to facilitate clinical and supportive care services. The role is that of a single point of contact among referring physicians, patients, and other clinical caregivers for the purpose of empowering patients in dealing with the disease and the treatment. The navigator facilitates patient appointments for diagnostic procedures in the laboratory, imaging, other specialty areas, and financial services.
Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years acute care experience required. Oncology experience preferred. Experience in multiple hospital departments preferred. 1 year of relevant experience in patient financial services, such as patient registration, insurance authorization, billing and coding preferred.
Licenses/Certification: Certifications/Licenses: RN License current in the state of Colorado or compact state. Current BLS certification, ACLS maintenance expected*. ONC Certification preferred.*Expected = if clinicians expire they must be signed up for the next available class after their expiration and per director discretion.
Compensation: $35.18 - $44.57/hr, depending on experience.

PRN staff are not initially eligible for benefits, and GVH follows all Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility guidelines.
