The primary purpose of your position is to ensure the comfort of the residents without giving direct patient care, in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator, to assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.

Education: Must possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. 

Experience: Experience working with the geriatric population is preferred. 

Responsible for providing assistance with non-nursing related functions

Answers call lights promptly and determines resident’s needs.  May provide general assistance to residents, but cannot provide cares or assist with transfers

Check for admission and help to prepare room

Answer phone at the nursing station

Ensures residents rooms are clean and well organized per resident preference and all care products put away and out of site.

Checks all residents clothes in closets and drawers to ensure each item is marked with residents name and in the appropriate closet.  This should be done weekly.

Pick up tub rooms and public areas as needed.  Ensures equipment on hall is placed appropriately.  Keeps all halls clear and free from all clutter, lifts and wheelchairs.

Compensation: $16.00/hr - $18.40/hr, depending on experience.

Medical, dental, vision, health care FSA, and dependent care FSA: All active employees working 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following date of hire.  PRN staff are not initially eligible for benefits, and GVH follows all Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility guidelines.
