The Director develops departmental strategies and objectives by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining productivity, quality, and patient-service strategies, designing systems, resolving problems and implementing change as needed. Further areas of responsibility include directing staff and developing strategic objectives while ensuring excellence with regard to patient care, documentation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
The Director will work in conjunction with human resources in determining accountabilities, communicating and enforcing values, policies, and procedures; implementing recruitment, selection, orientation, training, coaching, counseling, disciplinary, and communication programs; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation strategies.
The Director oversees delivery of therapy services by evaluating patient care protocols; measuring outcomes; researching and evaluating emerging trends while interpreting new regulations and standards. The Administrator will actively partner with physicians to achieve the mission of Gunnison Valley Hospital by promoting knowledge and utilization of physical therapy services by maintaining liaison with these physicians.
The Director actively builds open and constructive relationships promoting integrity among departments and staff members. The Director enhances the department’s and the hospital’s reputation by accepting ownership for the existing programs and therapies while exploring opportunities to add value to the organization.
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Field.
Experience: 5 years or more management and supervisory experience.
Licenses/Certification: Must hold or be eligible for a valid Colorado State PT or OT license. Maintenance of current CPR or BLS certification.
