Requirements:

To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have:

  • Education – Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing required.
  • Experience – Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience in oncology nursing care.  Minimum of one (1) year of clinical supervisory or management experience.  Previous experience as an Oncology Department Director preferred.    
  • Licenses/Certifications: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado.  Current BLS.  Current Chemotherapy Provider Certification, OCN certification preferred.  ACLS and PALS preferred.
  • Skills
    • Ability to systematically provide clear objectives, performance specific feedback, effective coaching and developmental experiences.
    • Proactively envision organizational goals and align resources to help achieve those goals.
    • Monitor Compliance with professional and departmental standards.
    • Monitor and review monthly operational budget, position control budget, and financial statements.

Responsibilities:

As the Director of Oncology for Gunnison Valley Health, you will be responsible for supervising all services related Cancer Care.  Overseeing a highly qualified and multi-talented team, you’ll utilize your unique skills and ideas by:

    • Actively building open and constructive relationships that promote integrity among departments and staff members.
    • Actively partnering with physicians to achieve the mission of Gunnison Valley Health.
    • Providing appropriate education of staff and documenting proficiency examinations for all essential skills.
    • Directing Staff and developing strategic objectives while ensuring excellence with regard to patient care, documentation and a commitment to continuous improvement.
    • Researching and evaluating emerging trends while interpreting new regulations and standards.  

 

Compensation: $42.11/hr - $54.74/hr, depending on experience.

Benefits Eligibility

Medical, dental, vision, health care FSA, and dependent care FSA: All active employees working 40 or more hours per pay period are eligible for benefits on the first of the month following 30 days of active service.  PRN staff are not initially eligible for benefits, and GVH follows all Affordable Health Care Act Eligibility guidelines.
