The Chief Financial Officer directs and supervises the financial management of the entire Gunnison Valley Health organization including hospital accounting, financial management, patient financial services, information technology, health information management, materials management. The CFO is also responsible for the annual budget, annual audit, and supervision of the financial services of the Senior Services side (SNF, Assisted Living and Home Medical Services). The CFO serves on the Senior Management Team and is integral in the strategic development and performance of the system. The CFO acts in a leadership role for hospital financial activities including development, committee assignments, and sources of revenue and cost structure, among other assigned matters.
Gunnison Valley Health includes Gunnison Valley Hospital, Senior Care Center, Assisted Living, Home Medical Services, Foundation and Gunnison Valley Family Medicine. Financial support is provided to the separate 501c3, GVH Foundation.
Minimum of five (5) years accounting and finance management experience in a hospital setting required. Critical access hospital experience is preferred. Experience with capital financing preferred. Personnel supervisory experience required. Proficiency and Microsoft Office Suite required.
Oversee, manage and assume overall responsibility for all accounting functions, to include Accounts Payable, Payroll, General Ledger management for all of Gunnison Valley Health (Hospital, Senior Care Center, Assisted Living, and Home Medical Services).
Provide for month end close of the General Ledger, including management or supervision of all journal entries. Ensure that monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements are published timely and accurately and presentation to appropriate audiences.
Responsible for supervision, training, development, and evaluation of personnel in the respective departments to include: Finance, Patient Financial Services, Information Technology, Health Information Technology, Rehabilitative Services and Supply Chain Management.
Provide overall financial leadership for GVH to include goal setting, quality and performance measurement.
Coordinates the budget cycle for the Hospital and acts in leadership role for Senior Care Center budget. Coordinate the annual financial audit and cost report preparation and timely filing. Responsible for organizing and conducting Manager's Operating Report with Directors of the organization in accordance with the established schedule as in cooperation with the CEO.
Oversees Gunnison Valley Health's investment portfolio in consultation with the CEO and all appropriate members of the Board of Trustees and Board Finance Committee.
Acts as the "administrator" of the Board Finance Committee including schedule setting, agenda planning and distribution, implementation or direction for action items from meetings, and assuring that recommendations are submitted to the full Board for consideration.
When requested by the CEO and/or Board, pursues methods for financing of capital projects or capital acquisitions, provides required information to financial institutions and lenders, and provides oversight for debt payments and reports for creditors when required and requested.
Responsible for providing management and leadership for the Hospital Revenue Cycle and all associated elements, procedures, practices, policies, documents associated with Cycle
Actively participates in Hospital's Information Technology Team and oversees the activities of the Team and the implementation of the Hospital's I.T. Strategic Plan.
Collaborates and supports the annual planning required for the establishment of Gunnison Valley Health's employee benefit and compensation programs by providing financial information, models and projections associated with the plans.
Actively participates in the Hospital's Compliance Program, inclusive of team meetings, investigations, improvement initiatives, report development and submission, and completion of corrective actions, in compliance with the Compliance Plan.
Required to take Administrative call rotation. Participates in drills and emergency response training. May be called in for GVH disaster response.
