Gunnison Valley Health is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist!  If you are experienced in providing anestesia-related care to facilitate diagnostic, therapueutic, or surgical procedures in the hospital setting this could be the position for you!  Gunnison Valley Health has been the recipient of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospital in America, as well as the Top 25 Rural Hospitals Nationwide. 

POSITION SUMMARY

To provide anesthesia and anesthesia-related care upon request, assignment, or referral by a patient's physician (or other health care professional authorized by law), most often to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic, or surgical procedures. Prepares prescribed solutions and administers anesthetic following specified methods and procedures. Informs physician of patient's condition during anesthesia. Performs pre- and post-anesthesia patient visits and documents anesthesia notes on patient records. In other instances, the referral or request for consultation or assistance may be for management of pain associated with obstetrical labor and delivery, management of acute or chronic ventilator problems, or management of acute or chronic pain through the performance of selected diagnostic or therapeutic blocks or other forms of pain management. Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and completion of a course in Anesthesia of at least 18 months approved by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and satisfactory completion of the qualifying examination of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists and recognition by the State Board of Registered Nursing as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Experience: Five years of professional Nurse Anesthetist experience in a medical center-type setting required.  Ability to be an independent anesthesia provider. Competence in providing care to obstetrical patients and providing regional anesthesia.

Licenses/Certification: A license to practice as a Registered Nurse issued by the Colorado State Board of Registered Nursing.  Current BLS (CPR) certification.  Current ACLS certification.
