  • We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Occupational Therapist to live and work in Gunnison Valley. Gunnison Valley Health is accepting resumes for an OTR to be employed by the hospital system but work in a multidisciplinary department which covers inpatient, some senior care, swing bed and pediatric patients with an emphasis on outpatient excellence and growth. This is a great opportunity to integrate with quality rehabilitation staff possessing developed specialties in athletic medicine, pelvic health, post-concussion, oncology and occupational medicine. We also work closely with our Family Medicine Clinic and local orthopedic surgeons including a fellowship trained hand surgeon. This is a full-time position with great benefits including $2000 per year allotted to continuing education. GVH has also has success inassisting with qualifying for student loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program!

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The occupational therapist works with patients and clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. The occupational therapist evaluates and treats patients under the supervision of a physician utilizing the parameters established by the American Occupational Therapy Association. The goal of the occupational therapist is to alleviate discomfort and restore function, provide education on prevention and wellness issues.

    Education: Graduate of a program in Occupational Therapy at a masters or bachelors level degree.

    Experience: Clinical experience with geriatric and orthopedic outpatient setting.

    Licenses/Certification: Current certification with the National Board foe certification in Occupational Therapy. Maintenance of current CPR or BLS
